A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our Vacation Bible School last Saturday. From financial support, to the volunteers, to providing props, to registering your kids and grandkids – and for your prayers for its success – all of these provided a happy and entertaining time for all. We had 16 kids, 4 youth helpers, and a “multitude” of adults singing, dancing, telling Bible stories, assisting with crafts, demonstrating science facts, serving snacks and a pizza lunch, and playing games. A special thank you to our Children’s Ministry leaders, Amy Cole and Victoria Godfrey, as well as Pastor Shelia, for the hours of preparation prior to the event. The kids said it was “super-dooper!” (one even asked if we could do it again this weekend – we invited them to the St. Paul-a-palooza!)
Saturday, June 16 –– Church picnic and tons of family fun at our St. Paul-a-Palooza! - 5:00-8:00 pm.
Join the St. Paul family in an evening of fun and fellowship on the grounds as we enjoy an outdoor picnic, karaoke concert, bouncy house, fun and games. The church will provide fried chicken and drinks for the picnic and you may sign up for the sides at the baker’s rack in the narthex. Side items still needed are coleslaw, cornbread, homemade ice cream and watermelon. NOTE: There is currently a salmonella warning out regarding cut watermelon (and cantaloupe) from a number of grocery chains, including Costco and Walmart. Please bring whole watermelon and wash it before cutting. There will be a pie/cakewalk, so donations of delicious pies and cakes are needed also. Tune up your vocal cords for the karaoke concert, and join in the games for all ages. Remember to bring your lawn chairs!
For the month of June, Ladies’ and Men’s Nights Out will take place on a new day...TUESDAY, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. The Ladies will go to the Marietta Diner and the Men will go to Bay Breeze.
The North Georgia Annual Conference will take place in Athens Tuesday through Thursday this week. Pastor Shelia and our Lay Delegate, Tricia Glidewell, will represent St. Paul. Please keep them and the Conference in your prayers.
The trustees have scheduled a work day on Saturday, June 23 from 8:00 am until noon. A list of tasks to be accomplished is available in the narthex if you wish to participate ahead of time. Mark this date on your calendar and plan to come out and support your church. There is something for everyone to do, inside and outside the buildings. A rain date is set for June 30th. Contact Bob Trengove at 770-926-1078 if you have questions.
This Sunday, June 17th, is the deadline to register on the Forever Young clipboard on the information shelves for the Thursday, June 28th "Bonsai" program by Doug Davis, Master Gardener. We will have a covered dish luncheon in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30 am. Please indicate on the signup list what food you will bring for the luncheon. Questions? Ask Susan McMillin.
